“Marking a World with Stone” is an interactive performance with the children of Nettelhorst School in Chicago. Sponsored by the Center for East Asian Arts and Centers for East Asian Studies at the University of Chicago, this performance encourages children to use their bodies to intuitively craft a world with Chinese ink, watercolor, and stone.

In this performance, I aim to establish a connection with people through body and ink. In the state of a child, we play on the canvas, using rocks to form a beautiful world. The beauty of this piece lies not in its effect but in its affect, where we perceive ourselves as both gardener and god, shaping our world from scratch.
